We woke up and had breakfast at the Old Iron Inn B&B. Kate and Kevin, our hosts, had let us stay there for 5 nights for free. This was a huge help to us and our mission. We are so grateful. I can’t even describe the awesomeness of these people. There was another couple who was staying there who we ate breakfast with. They were from Delaware. We were talking about our walk and the woman asked what our facebook page was. I told her it was Freedom to Grow, Inc. She searched for it and realized that she had already “liked” it in the past. She had thought that she had heard of our walk. It was amazing to see that we were reaching people through social media along the way. So awesome!
We cleaned up our apartment and said goodbye to Kate. Then Kevin followed us out to our starting point and helped us bring our car forward so that we could walk to it at the end of the day. Then we thanked him and said goodbyes.
We had only 9 miles to walk but we needed to do it fast as storms were coming soon. We hotfooted it. About 6 miles in, the clouds were getting very ominous and we could see lightning and hear thunder. I decided that we could call it short and try to hitch a ride the next few miles to our car. Better to play it safe.
Well, no one stopped for us lol. So we had to go ahead and keep walking. We hotfooted it again and thankfully the clouds moved on without hitting us. Phew!
We got to the car and headed to a hotel room on a lake nearby. It is a really nice apartment type place with 3 beds and it is right on the lake. We can hear the loons and watch the sun go down. We have all been talking and reminiscing on the walk and it is starting to hit me that we are almost there. Jessie and I had some deep conversations about how this walk can help with your happiness and health. She is doing so well. I am happy that she came.
Off to bed. Big day tomorrow!!!!
