We woke up and decided to get some miles in today even though we knew rain was coming. A friend of ours from facebook, Denise, purchased a hotel room for the night for us so we had a place to come back to and dry off and rest up. No reason not to walk. We drove out to our starting point then left the car there and walked on.
There was a huge 10 foot shoulder along Hwy 301 in Maryland headed towards the town of Waldorf. That was our goal for the day. We walked and walked and it was easy steppin with no strollers and a huge shoulder. We were trying to talk to each other to stay entertained. It could’ve been boring but we made it as fun as we could.
There is a secret road trip game called “The Anal Game” that we play. Kids and Christians may want to skip to the next paragraph lol. Anyways, when we see an RV, we add the word “anal” before the name of it. Most RV’s have names like Explorer, Adventurer, etc. Today we had two good ones…. Vengeance and Access. We both cracked up laughing as they were passing by. Something to break up the boredom of walking so many miles alongside a busy highway.
We walked about 12 miles before we took a break and when we got to an area with food we decided to stop for a lunch break. There was a mexican restaurant so we went in there.
We ate and then Stick’s facebook got hacked. Messages were coming by the hundreds. It was insane and he got super frustrated. I felt bad for him but there was nothing I could do. It was done. We tried to walk on after lunch but rain, heavy traffic, and Stick’s facebook dilemma made us call it an early day. We got a Lyft ride back to our car and drove back to our hotel room to unwind and take care of stuff.
We spent the evening relaxing and enjoying some downtime before a busy weekend approaching…
