I dropped Brooke off at school and had the talk with her again about why I’m gone and how it helps others. It was so hard to watch her walk into class knowing it would be months again before I saw her. It was a tough day from there.
I still had a lot to look forward to though. My stepdad Rodney made breakfast for us and it was really good. We then headed on to my aunt’s house and saw her, my uncle, my 2 cousins, and Bob. Hey Bob!
This is the house I was living in before the walk so it was nice to be home for a few but I started to get anxious. I didn’t want to get too comfortable. I did grab some more supplies that were in my room while I was there.
Stick has a niece who lives nearby and she came over to see us and brought some awesome banana bread. It was great to meet some more of his family. She was really nice.
We left there and headed to see my sister at Eternal Hills cemetary. That’s all I have to say about that.
Then we rolled onto my granddads house and he took us out to lunch. It meant a lot to me to see him and I’m glad it all worked out. It was a great day but we had to get back to Charleston to get back in mission mode. We drove the 5 hours back and it was the longest 5 hours of my life.
Thankfully it wad opening day in baseball and i was able to block my depression from missing my family with the sounds of America’s favorite pasttime. When we made it back we ordered pizza and that was that.
Wow you had a two full days. I know you had to be excited to see your family, especially Brooke. After this trip maybe you’ll have some camping trips
with her. That’s sweet how you fell asleep reading her bedtime stories.
That was a wise thing to drive the back roads and check them out ahead of time. I hope they aren’t to bad.
Well take care. ❤️🙏🏻👣👣🐾🐾
What a full and emotional day. So glad you got to see your family, your sweet girl and visit your sis …❤ let it recharge you for the journey ahead!
