We woke up well before the sun today and packed up. It had rained hard last night and was also very humid so everything had a layer of gross wetness to it. We knew that we would be able to air it all out once the sun came out later. We headed to our starting place and started to get ready to walk.
Stick wasn’t happy with how his new gear was not fitting properly onto his cart. We decided to make the changes right then since we had the car available to us and may not have it for another 5 days after this. We went to Wal-mart and Dick’s and got everything we needed to figure it out. By then it was pouring down rain and we decided to go ahead and just take today off too. The weather was looking horrible and the rest of the week looked great. No reason to suffer if you don’t have to.
We went to Home Depot to get things that both of our carts needed and decided that we would go ahead and spend the day doing that and resting because we didn’t get a lot of rest in yesterday. We did all that and checked into a hotel room that my little cousin Sammy booked for us. We worked on the carts and I made some calls and emails to stay on top of the awareness work. We got all caught up and recharged. We are ready to kick some butt now. We have four days to get to Savannah and that will be a big deal.
We are planning on standing with signs and doing street interviews with all of the people during the huge St. Parick’s Day festival while we are there. The film crew will be there and we should be able to get some good information out there while doing this. It should also be a fun crowd to observe in the process of all this haha.
Anyways, we are enjoying being indoors during this horrible weather day and we are ready to get back out tomorrow.
