Day 44 – 0 miles – 627 total

We woke up early and hit the campground showers before the shower rush. Then we went to Wal-mart to get Stick a tent because he had another rough night. I needed to get some hair gel because we had to go to church today and I hadn’t had a haircut since we started so I needed some help with my crazy hair.

We did all that, grabbed some breakfast, and then headed to church. It was incredible. Not only were we able to get up and talk to the congregation about what we were doing but they were very receptive to hearing about ways that they can help others out when they come to the church for help with addiction. Stick and I both enjoyed the service and it got us fired up to keep doing good work.

The pastor and some others took us out to lunch and we enjoyed having company all afternoon. Then we went back to the campground because we had a whole lot of work to do. Laundry, resupplying food, gear maintenance, plan out the route for the next few days, get caught up on blog and social media, etc.

It may not seem like much but it takes time and we have to do it all to be efficient. While I am thinking about it, I do apologize to people who try to message me on facebook or text or email or anything. I can’t always get back in a timely manner. I am very consumed during this mission and I do try my best. Sometimes that is not good enough for people and they get upset with me. I ask kindly for your understanding and for some patience. I am out doing the best I can and sometimes I have too many messages to answer at any given moment. In fact, I rarely have time to talk to my family and close friends. I’ll always do what I can and I have the best of intentions but sometimes my facebook messages just have to be placed low on the priority list. Hopefully this will help clear things up.

We have some rain coming tonight so I need to go and get hunkered down so I can stay dry. Savannah is our next big town! Looking forward to it. We should be there in 4 or 5 days. Thanks for reading!
