It was a very easy morning because we were able to leave our tents set up. All we had to do was get dressed and go. It was great.
We headed to Gillette Stadium parking lot where we ended yesterday. We had a very smooth start to the day. We walked 12 miles by 12 o’clock.
Then the heat kicked in. Serious heat. We walked and became overheated. We had to stop. We found a fire station and sat down in the shade. We were nearly out of water. What we had left was really hot. We were all feeling lightheaded. The dogs were panting hard too.
A man named Nigel saw us and brought us some cold water and cookies. We cooled down and hydrated and made a pact not to push that hard anymore today. It was too hot. We had to keep a check on our body temperature and our dogs.
We walked for another hour and then stopped in a burger king for some air conditioning and a snack. At the Burger King, Lindsay received some personal news that was hard to hear. We decided to cut the day just a little short and just get back to the camp.
We walked another 2 miles to a spot that worked for everything and then I ubered back to our car. Then drove our car back to load up everything and everyone. Then we headed back to the campsite where we found a building with air conditioning to sit in. We did showers and ate and took care of our dogs. Then hung around until the sun went down and headed up to the campsite to sleep.
