2 days before take-off

I woke up in my bed for the last time in at least 6 months. Today was going to be a big day. I woke up early but slept very well. I had breakfast and got myself together before anyone else was up. I started loading the trailer and then Abhay, Allison, and Meghan all got their stuff ready and we found out a way to make all of our stuff fit into the trailer. I went back up to my room and made sure to unplug everything, take the trash out, etc. I had a moment when I reached down to turn the switch off on the power strip that powered my desktop computer. I had spent countless hours on that very computer all last year as I started up a non-profit organization and planned for this walk. Shortly after everything was finished, 11alive news showed up and did a quick interview to help get the word out about our walk and why we are doing it. We then all said our final goodbyes to our families and drove away and headed south! We had a long day on the road ahead of us and it started off a little awkward for me. I noticed I was having a lot of anxiety. Nothing out of the norm considering the circumstances. I talked it out with everyone and felt better. We all seemed to enjoy getting to know each other. I certainly did. The road trip went really smoothly and was fairly uneventful. A sponsor of our walk wanted to help out and booked us a hotel room. She was not expected to do this. This was out of her heart and it was a very generous contribution. We are all happy and safe in a nice hotel and we are only 4 hours away from Key West. Overall a great and very efficient day. I should sleep well and be ready for another great one tomorrow! Buenas noches
